How to Install the Chinese Bible

We use cb.tar.gz as an example in the following. It should be substituded with the file that you have downloaded.
On UNIX, use the following command:
gzcat cb.tar.gz | tar xvf -
or
gzip -dc cb.tar.gz | tar -xvf -
The latest version of gzip can be obtained from prep.ai.mit.edu:/pub/gnu

On MacOS Macintosh, use StuffIt Expander,
which is a freeware, can be downloaded from Aladdin System, Inc or ncca.
Just drag and drop cb.tar.gz to the StuffIt Expander icon.


On Windows Win95 or Win3.x, use WinZip or StuffIt Expander
There are several ways to decompress the gzipped files with WinZip. The easiest one is:
  1. Use Window Explorer to loacate the downloaded file.
  2. Double click on the file.
  3. Hit 'Yes' button on the pop-up dialog box.
  4. Click on the 'Extract' button.
  5. Choose a place to store the extracted files, then click on the 'Extract' button.
