| 1:5 | [hb5] | 我從前留你在革哩底、是要你將那沒有辦完的事都辦整齊了、又照我所吩咐你的、在各城設立長老.

| | [kjv] | For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:

| | [bbe] | But opening his house freely to guests; a lover of what is good, serious-minded, upright, holy, self-controlled;

| 1:9 | [hb5] | 堅守所教真實的道理、就能將純正的教訓勸化人.又能把爭辯的人駁倒了。

| | [kjv] | Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

| | [bbe] | Keeping to the true word of the teaching, so that he may be able to give comfort by right teaching and overcome the arguments of the doubters.

| 1:10 | [hb5] | 因為有許多人不服約束、說虛空話、欺哄人.那奉割禮的、更是這樣。

| | [kjv] | For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:

| | [bbe] | For there are men who are not ruled by law; foolish talkers, false teachers, specially those of the circumcision,

| 1:11 | [hb5] | 這些人的口總要堵住.他們因貪不義之財、將不該教導的教導人、敗壞人的全家。

| | [kjv] | Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.

| | [bbe] | By whom some families have been completely overturned; who take money for teaching things which are not right; these will have to be stopped.

| 1:12 | [hb5] | 有革哩底人中的一個本地先知說、『革哩底人常說謊話、乃是惡獸、又饞又懶.』

| | [kjv] | One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.

| | [bbe] | One of their prophets has said, The men of Crete are ever false, evil beasts, lovers of food, hating work.

| | [bbe] | Giving no attention to the fictions of the Jews and the rules of men who have no true knowledge.

| 1:15 | [hb5] | 在潔淨的人、凡物都潔淨.在污穢不信的人、甚麼都不潔淨.連心地和天良、也都污穢了。

| | [kjv] | Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

| | [bbe] | To the clean in heart all things are clean: but to those who are unclean and without faith nothing is clean; they become unclean in mind and in thought.

| 1:16 | [hb5] | 他們說是認識 神、行事卻和他相背.本是可憎惡的、是悖逆的、在各樣善事上是可廢棄的。

| | [kjv] | They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

| | [bbe] | They say that they have knowledge of God, while by their acts they are turning their backs on him; they are hated by all, hard-hearted, and judged to be without value for any good work.
