| 1:2 | [hb5] | 萬軍之耶和華如此說、這百姓說、建造耶和華殿的時候尚未來到。

| | [kjv] | Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that the LORD's house should be built.

| | [bbe] | These are the words of the Lord of armies: These people say, The time has not come for building the Lord's house.

| 1:4 | [hb5] | 這殿仍然荒涼、你們自己還住天花板的房屋麼．

| | [kjv] | Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your cieled houses, and this house lie waste?

| | [bbe] | Is it a time for you to be living in roofed houses while this house is a waste?
|
| 1:5 | [hb5] | 現在萬軍之耶和華如此說、你們要省察自己的行為。

| | [kjv] | Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.
|
| | [bbe] | For this cause the Lord of armies has said, Give thought to your ways.
|
| 1:6 | [hb5] | 你們撒的種多、收的卻少．你們吃、卻不得飽、喝、卻不得足、穿衣服、卻不得暖．得工錢的、將工錢裝在破漏的囊中。
|
| | [kjv] | Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes.

| | [bbe] | Much has been planted, but little got in; you take food, but have not enough; you take drink, but are not full; you are clothed, but no one is warm; and he who gets payment for his work, gets it to put it into a bag full of holes.

| 1:7 | [hb5] | 萬軍之耶和華如此說、你們要省察自己的行為。

| | [kjv] | Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.
|
| | [bbe] | This is what the Lord of armies has said: Give thought to your ways.

| 1:8 | [hb5] | 你們要上山取木料、建造這殿．我就因此喜樂、且得榮耀．這是耶和華說的。

| | [kjv] | Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the LORD.
|
| | [bbe] | Go up to the hills and get wood and put up the house; and I will take pleasure in it and be honoured, says the Lord.
|
| 1:9 | [hb5] | 你們盼望多得、所得的卻少．你們收到家中、我就吹去．這是為甚麼呢、因為我的殿荒涼、你們各人卻顧自己的房屋．〔顧原文作奔〕這是萬軍之耶和華說的。

| | [kjv] | Ye looked for much, and lo, it came to little; and when ye brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why? saith the LORD of hosts. Because of mine house that is waste, and ye run every man unto his own house.

| | [bbe] | You were looking for much, and it came to little; and when you got it into your house, I took it away with a breath. Why? says the Lord of armies. Because of my house which is a waste, while every man takes care of the house which is his.

| 1:10 | [hb5] | 所以為你們的緣故、天就不降甘露、地也不出土產。

| | [kjv] | Therefore the heaven over you is stayed from dew, and the earth is stayed from her fruit.
|
| | [bbe] | For this cause the heaven over you is kept from giving dew, and the earth from giving her fruit.

| 1:11 | [hb5] | 我命乾旱臨到地土、山岡、五穀、新酒、和油、並地上的出產、人民、牲畜、以及人手一切勞碌得來的。

| | [kjv] | And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the corn, and upon the new wine, and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground bringeth forth, and upon men, and upon cattle, and upon all the labour of the hands.

| | [bbe] | And by my order no rain came on the land or on the mountains or the grain or the wine or the oil or the produce of the earth or on men or cattle or on any work of man's hands.

| 1:12 | [hb5] | 那時、撒拉鐵的兒子所羅巴伯和約撒答的兒子大祭司約書亞、並剩下的百姓、都聽從耶和華他們 神的話和先知哈該奉耶和華他們 神差來所說的話．百姓也在耶和華面前存敬畏的心。

| | [kjv] | Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the LORD their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, as the LORD their God had sent him, and the people did fear before the LORD.

| | [bbe] | Then Zerubbabel, the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua, the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and all the rest of the people, gave ear to the voice of the Lord their God and to the words of Haggai the prophet, because the Lord their God had sent him, and the people were in fear before the Lord.

| 1:13 | [hb5] | 耶和華的使者哈該奉耶和華差遣對百姓說、耶和華說、我與你們同在。

| | [kjv] | Then spake Haggai the LORD's messenger in the LORD's message unto the people, saying, I am with you, saith the LORD.

| | [bbe] | Then Haggai, whom the Lord had sent to give his words to the people, said, I am with you, says the Lord.

| 1:14 | [hb5] | 耶和華激動猶大省長撒拉鐵的兒子所羅巴伯、和約撒答的兒子大祭司約書亞、並剩下之百姓的心．他們就來為萬軍之耶和華他們 神的殿作工。

| | [kjv] | And the LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the house of the LORD of hosts, their God,

| | [bbe] | And the spirit of Zerubbabel, the son of Shealtiel, ruler of Judah, was moved by the Lord, as was the spirit of Joshua, the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of all the rest of the people; and they came and did work in the house of the Lord of armies, their God.
