| 1:5 | [hb5] | 因為我們的福音傳到你們那裏、不獨在乎言語、也在乎權能、和聖靈、並充足的信心．正如你們知道我們在你們那裏、為你們的緣故是怎樣為人。

| | [kjv] | For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

| | [bbe] | Because our good news came to you, not in word only, but in power, and in the Holy Spirit, so that you were completely certain of it; even as you saw what our behaviour to you was like from our love to you.

| | [bbe] | So that you became an example to all those who have faith in Christ in Macedonia and Achaia.

| 1:8 | [hb5] | 因為主的道從你們那裏已經傳揚出來、你們向 神的信心不但在馬其頓和亞該亞、就是在各處、也都傳開了．所以不用我們說甚麼話。

| | [kjv] | For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing.

| | [bbe] | For not only was the word of the Lord sounding out from you in Macedonia and Achaia, but in every place your faith in God is made clear; so that we have no need to say anything.

| 1:9 | [hb5] | 因為他們自己已經報明我們是怎樣進到你們那裏、你們是怎樣離棄偶像歸向 神、要服事那又真又活的 神、

| | [kjv] | For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;

| | [bbe] | For they themselves give the news of how we came among you; and how you were turned from images to God, to the worship of a true and living God,
