Created to meet the needs of Chinese web browsing, Cwebview enables 16-bit Windows applications to show Chinese characters. This program has been tested with Netscape, Iexplore and Mosaic running under Win 3.1, Win 95 and Windows NT. This program also works with many other 16-bit Windows apps. (If you use Win-NT on a RISC machine, only a few programs work with Cwebview, including Write and our Chinese Bible viewer.) After unzipping cwebview.zip, check that all these files exist in you cwebview directory: CWEBHELP.TXT, CWEBVIEW.EXE, PROCHOOK.DLL If you use Win-95 or Win-NT, make sure you are running a 16-bit version, not the 32-bit version of your web browser (Netscape, Iexplore or Mosaic). You should (1) Create a shortcut to run cwebview.exe. (2) Before you run your web browser, double click this icon to launch Cwebview. You should see a text message about cwebview. (3) Click the "Thankyou" button to dismiss the message box. Then when you are viewing web pages containing Chinese characters, Chinese should show up on the screen.
